At Dwaraka, young Abhimanyu insists on practicing archery using Balarama as the target. Krishna, Rukmini, Revati, and Subhadra watch the scene with amusement.
Krishna volunteers to stand as the target, balancing a fruit on his head. Abhimanyu releases an arrow with flawless precision and strikes the fruit cleanly. Everyone applauds his extraordinary mastery, already rivaling his father Arjuna.
Later, Abhimanyu challenges Balarama to a friendly mace duel. His agility impresses even the seasoned master of the gada. Abhimanyu then requests instruction on breaking through formation warfare — especially the Chakravyuha. Krishna promises to teach him on an auspicious day.
Duryodhana Sends Sage Durvasa to the Pandavas
At Hastinapur, Sage Durvasa thanks Dhritarashtra and expresses satisfaction with Duryodhana’s hospitality. He offers to grant Duryodhana a boon. Pretending humility, Duryodhana requests that the sage visit the Pandavas in Dwaitavana and bless them as well.
Dhritarashtra believes his son has finally repented. But in reality, Duryodhana intends to place the Pandavas in a fatal situation — hoping the unpredictable sage will curse them if they fail to offer immediate hospitality. Shakuni instructs the royal guards to watch when Draupadi finishes using the Akshaya Patra, then bring Durvasa to their hermitage.
The guards locate the Pandavas and secretly observe Draupadi serving lunch. After everyone eats, she washes the Akshaya Patra clean — which means it will not yield food again until the next day. The guards rush back and escort Sage Durvasa and his disciples to Dhaumya’s hermitage.
Durvasa Demands Food
Yudhishtra receives Durvasa warmly, but the sage declares that he and his disciples are hungry and expect to be fed immediately.
Draupadi stands stunned — there is no food left anywhere, and the Kalasha remains empty until the sun sets.
Durvasa asks for water to bathe and leaves briefly for the river. The moment he departs, panic grips the hermitage. Yudhishtra remains calm, but Draupadi trembles, knowing that failing to serve guests means instant fury — and Durvasa is known for devastating curses.
With no options left, Draupadi calls out to Krishna, remembering his pledge to protect her in times of crisis.
Krishna Answers Draupadi’s Call
At that exact moment in Dwaraka, Krishna is explaining the method of entering the Chakravyuha formation to Abhimanyu — revising what he had once heard while in Subhadra’s womb. Abhimanyu asks how to exit the Chakravyuha. Before Krishna answers, he hears Draupadi’s inner cry and instantly departs.
Krishna appears in the hermitage with a smile, asking playfully: “Draupadi, will you not offer me food first?”
Draupadi is distraught and begs him not to mock her when she stands helpless. Krishna asks her to bring the Akshaya Patra. Examining it, he finds a tiny leaf of greens stuck inside the vessel. He smiles and says: “This is more than enough for me.”
Draupadi watches, bewildered.
