Narakasura Killed By Satyabhama : Episode 109

Recap of Previous Episode :

Duryodhana attempts to deceive Kunti with false repentance but fails, later killing Kanaka in frustration and discovering a clue linking Pandavas to Virata’s kingdom. Meanwhile, Krishna negotiates with Indra to defeat Narakasura. In Virata’s palace, Keechaka’s lust and power push Draupadi into danger, forcing her to seek refuge publicly in the court.

Keechaka Insults Draupadi in Virata’s Court

Draupadi escapes from Keechaka’s grip and rushes into King Virata’s court, crying for protection. The king initially agrees to shelter her, but when he learns that Keechaka is the attacker, he withdraws helplessly, admitting shamefully that he has no authority and that all real power rests with Keechaka.

Keechaka barges into the hall and continues his advances. Draupadi resists fiercely, and before the entire assembly, Keechaka kicks her brutally, even as Kanka (Yudhishtra) sits in silence and Ballava (Bhima) serves drinks to the courtiers.

Draupadi turns to Kanka for support, trembling with rage and humiliation. Yudhishtra signals Bhima to stay silent, assuring Draupadi that her Gandharva husbands are aware of everything and will act at the right time. Draupadi cries that powerful warriors stand before her but do nothing. Bhima clenches his fists, unable to tolerate the insult, but Yudhishtra restrains him again with a subtle warning.

Keechaka laughs arrogantly and says he wants Draupadi to come to him willingly. He gives her one day to accept his proposal and then leaves triumphantly. Draupadi’s eyes burn with fury, knowing vengeance is near.

Narakasura Is Slain

Far away in the heavens, Krishna and Bhama confront Narakasura in a fierce aerial battle. Narakasura mocks Krishna, taunting that He always ran from Jarasandha and now hides behind a woman. The battle intensifies, and Narakasura shoots an arrow causing Krishna to feign collapse.

Seeing Krishna fall, Bhama is enraged. She picks up the bow and releases a powerful arrow that strikes Narakasura mortally. As he falls crying “Amma!”, Bhama is suddenly overcome by sorrow, unable to understand her grief.

Krishna explains that Bhama is actually Bhooma Devi (Mother Earth) reborn. Narakasura is her own son, born when she was captive under the ocean at the hands of Hiranyaksha, and Vishnu, as Varaha, rescued her. Because Bhooma Devi saw the demon Hiranyaksha at the moment of birth, the child turned demonic. Brahma granted him a boon that only his mother could kill him, which is why Krishna brought Bhama to battle.

Krishna and Bhama approach the dying Narakasura. He requests that his death be celebrated with light and joy instead of mourning. Thus begins the festival of Deepavali. 16,100 imprisoned women beg Krishna for protection; Bhama promises their redemption and Krishna agrees to marry them.

Dushasana Arrives in Virata’s Court

Back in Matsya kingdom, Dushasana arrives secretly and Virata welcomes him warmly. Dushasana reveals that his spies suspect the Pandavas are hiding somewhere in the kingdom and asks for assistance in locating them.

Keechaka assures help and orders a list of new arrivals in the palace. The attendant names those who have joined Virata in the previous year, and suspicion begins to fall upon the newly arrived servants including Kanka, Ballava, Brihannala, Granthika, Tantipala, and Sairandhri.

The Pandavas realize that their true identities may soon be exposed, and they prepare themselves with heightened caution.
