Day 4 and Day 5 of Kurukshetra War : Episode 134

Dushasana chides Duryodhana for being disrespectful to Bhishma. Duryodhana asks Shakuni for his opinion. Shakuni says he concurs with Dushasana on some points but disagrees on other issues. He elaborates on his opinions. While finding faults with Bhishma can spur him to fight more vigorously to prove his loyalty, but overdoing it can provoke him to raise his sword against Duryodhana himself. Duryodhana wants to bring in Karna, but Shakuni discounts that possibility, saying Bhishma would not participate if Karna is brought in, and if Karna is still brought in, it will alienate most of their powerful allies who are there either out of respect, or for fear, of Bhishma. Duryodhana is at his wit's end, but Shakuni says mysteriously that Krishna would take care of it, even though for Pandavas' sake.

Fully charged armies of Kauravas and Pandavas assemble for the fourth day of the war. Yudhishtra confronts Vikarna, Bhima assaults Dushasana and then roots for Bhishma. It is a busy day for Bhishma, with Arjuna on a hot pursuit. Bhima is however at his miasmatic best.

He kills eight kauravas in wrestling duels. As Sanjaya narrates the incidents, Dhritarashtra and Gandhari are devastated.

At night, Duryodhana attacks Bhishma with furious words. Karna commiserates with Duryodhana and is eager to help him, but Bhishma's obduracy in not letting him in leaves him despondent.

On the fifth day of war Bhishma arranges the troop in makara vyuha, which the Pandavas have countered with their Syena (Hawk) vyuha.

Duryodhana starts to fight with Satyaki. Bhurisravas relieves Duryodhana, saying he has come to wreak vengeance on Satyaki for his father Somadatta who has been disgraced by Satyaki's grandfather Sini when he helped his friend Vasudeva to marry Devaki at the latter's swayamvaram. Just as Bhurisravas starts fighting with Satyaki, his son comes forward to fight with Bhurisravas, and Satyaki is challenged by Somadatta.

Thus on the fifth day, Bhurisravas fights with Satyaki's sons one after the other and kills ten sons of Satyaki. Duryodhana is beside himself with happiness and insults Bhishma on the battle field itself.
